Yellowhead Christian School is seeking caring, adaptable, and Christ-centered Educational Assistants to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year.

Available Positions

We are currently hiring for multiple Educational Assistant positions, including:

• Full-time positions (approximately 30 hours per week)
• Part-time positions (various schedules and hours)

Positions may be combined with supervision, library, office support, or other school duties to create additional hours for qualified applicants.

Position Summary

Educational Assistants support the education, development, and well-being of students while contributing to the smooth and effective operation of the school. Educational Assistants work under the supervision of the classroom teacher and school administration and take direction from the professionals to whom they are assigned.

The successful candidates will demonstrate a heart for Christian education, a desire to support student learning, and the ability to build positive and trusting relationships with children.

Responsibilities

• Support the instruction and learning of students within the classroom.
• Assist students who may have academic, behavioural, social, emotional, intellectual, or physical support needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and administration to support student success.
• Assist in implementing learning activities, interventions, and programs designed by teachers.
• Supervise students in both structured and unstructured settings, including classrooms, hallways, recess, lunch periods, and school events.
• Accompany and assist teachers and students on field trips and school excursions.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism regarding student information.
• Foster a positive, safe, respectful, and Christ-centered learning environment.
• Model Christian character and conduct in all interactions with students, families, and staff.

Preferred qualifications include:

• A vibrant and growing Christian faith.
• Experience working with children and youth through schools, childcare programs, churches, camps, or related settings is an asset.
• Educational Assistant training or related education is considered an asset.
• Training or willingness to receive training in strategies that support students with diverse learning needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility, patience, and adaptability.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

The successful applicants will be required to provide:

• A current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
• A current Child Intervention Record Check.
• Three professional references.
• Current pastoral contact information or a pastoral reference letter.

Compensation will be based on qualifications, experience, and position assignment and is consistent with Yellowhead Christian School's Educational Assistant compensation framework.
