Alcuin College invites applications from energetic, organized and qualified business teachers for AP Macroeconomics, AP Business with Personal Finance, Economics 12. Candidates should have a sound knowledge and understanding of the curricula and a concept-based, inquiry approach to teaching and learning, the ability to provide a rich and varied, experiential learning programme to students, as well as an openness to collaborate with colleagues.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Developing a learning environment that promotes communication and collaboration, builds positive relationships, fosters an ethic of care and values the contributions of all learners;
Designing and implementing engaging, student-centered learning opportunities that support inquiry and encourage creativity and innovation;
Differentiating learning opportunities and assessment practices to meet the needs of individual learners;
Monitoring student learning through a variety of assessment tools and strategies
Communicating positively and proactively with parents;
Participating in collaborative professional development and school-wide functions;
Embracing the school’s mission and educational philosophy.
