Northland Online School

Northland School Division is seeking Substitute Teachers at Northland Online School for the 2024-2025 school year. The online school serves students from Kindergarten through Grade 12, offering a personalized approach to education that blends whole school initiatives with tailored online learning experiences. Our curriculum proudly integrates First Nations, Métis language, culture, and land-based learning, creating a rich and inclusive learning environment. Major Responsibilities include:

• Following the prescribed program of studies for each subject taught.
• Plan and execute daily lessons based on short, medium and long range planning.
• Provide feedback to students and parents in a regular, timely manner.
• Champion Cree language/culture revitalization and curriculum infusion.
• Support school-parent-community engagement.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills and commit to collaborative-decision making.
• Promote differentiated instruction to meet diversity in learning needs.

• Must hold or qualify for Alberta teaching certification and a Teaching Quality Standard certificate.
• Must hold a Bachelor of Education (BEd.) degree.
• Successful years of teaching experience in rural and/or Indigenous communities.
