The Halton District School Board (HDSB) is one of the fastest growing school districts in Canada. Together, our 12,000+ staff serve more than 67,000 students in more than 100 schools in the communities of Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville. We are seeking an Executive Officer / Superintendent of Human Resources (EO) to lead all aspects of the HDSB’s Human Resources department in our complex, multi-union, public sector environment. Reporting to the Director of Education, the EO is crucial to attaining the Board’s goals as set out in the multi-year plan, through expert leadership in human resources management, payroll, pensions, staffing, recruiting, labour relations, employment law, succession planning, disability and attendance management, and health and safety.
The E.O. fosters a collaborative and an inclusive workplace that inspires and supports learning; creates safe, healthy, equitable, inclusive and engaging environments, and prepares students for success. The incumbent has 4 direct reports and is responsible for the leadership of a team of ~55 staff.
