Social Studies and English Teacher

JUNIOR HIGH SOCIAL STUDIES/ENGLISH

TEACHER REQUIRED for ASHMONT SCHOOL

Ashmont School requires a 1.0 FTE probationary Social Studies and English teacher for the 2024-2025 school year commencing August 28, 2024 to June 30, 2025.

The full teaching assignment will include Grade 7-9 Social Studies and English and could include other options dependent on the skills and experience of the successful individual.

Ashmont School, located in Ashmont, Alberta, is a grade K-12 school with approximately 520 students.

The successful candidate will:

• have a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
• be committed to student-centered learning
• understand and correctly use formative/summative assessment
• practise effective differentiated learning strategies to ensure learning
• use technology to enhance learning and engage learners
• be collaborative and committed to building relationships with students, parents and staff
• have strong curriculum knowledge
• have experience and/or training in cross cultural education
