AIR CONDITIONING MECHANIC

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Maintenance Services, the Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for the installation, repair, operation and preventive maintenance of heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment and for all associated controls.
Qualifications, Education, Experience, and Knowledge
Valid Refrigeration, Air Conditioning mechanics license issued by the Ontario Ministry of Education & Training or an equivalent Canadian inter-provincial license.
Valid Ozone Depletion Prevention Certificate.
Valid G1 gas fitters license issued by the Ontario Ministry of Skills Development or an equivalent Canadian inter-provincial license.
Valid full "G" Ontario driver’s license.
Minimum grade 12 secondary school education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of five years’ experience in diagnostic evaluation, maintenance, installation, set up and commissioning of commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
Good working knowledge of the latest developments in air conditioning technology.
Good working knowledge of building service systems.
Ability to read mechanical and electrical construction, schematic and control drawings.
Good working knowledge of Direct Digital Control interface systems.
Good working knowledge of electrical control systems, operating procedures, relevant codes and safety practices.
