Position Available : Secondary English & Social Studies Teacher

What: The Pikangikum Education Authority is seeking a motivated individual to work as a Full Time Secondary English & Social Studies Teacher at Eenchokay Birchstick School for the 2024-2025 School Year.

Teacher’s Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for the effective instruction and evaluation of student achievement.
• Be responsible for the effective management of all students.
• Demonstrate an ability to differentiate academic instruction.

• An ability to create an interesting and engaging classroom environment for all students.
• A strong desire to meet and work with young people inside and outside of school.

Qualifications & Skills:

• To be a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or be eligible for membership.
• Speaking of the Ojibway language an asset but not essential.
• Excellent technology skills. Knowledge of Indigenous Culture an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work positively with other staff members.

Salary Range: $60,501.71 - $110,228.79 as per the Pikangikum Education Authority’s Salary Scale.
