INTERNAL / EXTERNAL POSTING DIRECTOR OF INSTRUCTION The Board of Education for School District 72 (Campbell River) invites applications for a Director of Instruction vacancy, available August 1, 2024 School District 72 operates throughout a large geographic area. Campbell River and Quadra Island schools and our school board office are located on the traditional territory of the Liǧʷiɫdax̌ʷ people. School District 72 also encompasses the traditional territory of the Klahoose (Cortes), K’ómoks (Sayward), and Xwe’malhkwu (Bute Inlet) First Nations. The District also respects and values the relationships with all other First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples who reside in these territories. Responsibilities As the Director of Instruction, you will be part of the Senior Leadership Team with the responsibility of leading teachers and administrators in evidence-based practices in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and social emotional learning (SEL) embedded with Indigenous world views and perspectives that optimize learning outcomes and experiences for students. The Director fosters a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in all areas in our K-12 system which includes literacy, numeracy, French immersion, career education, sexual health, place-based learning, and early learning. The starting annual salary for this full time Director of Instruction position is expected to be between $164,459 and $182,732.
