Coquitlam School District invites applications from individuals for the position of temporary carpenter. As the third largest school district in the province, we are located within a 40-minute drive from downtown Vancouver. The school district has a population of 34,000 students with approximately 4,400 teaching, administrative, managerial and support staff.
This position reports to the Manager of Maintenance and the Trades Supervisor and is responsible for inspecting and reporting on roof membranes, drainage channels, flashings and related systems. Keep roofs clear of debris, clear drainage channels, repair flashing and carry out minor blister and membrane repairs. Maintains and repairs buildings including renovations and modifications, performs preventive maintenance on equipment and structures, such as gymnastic equipment, panic bars, etc. Provides estimates and advice on carpentry projects, keeps a detailed account of work performed for the computerized costing system and may be required to operate Aerial Work Platforms. (AEP’s) and /or forklifts.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
This is a unionized position which offers $41.50/hour (40 hours/week), plus 16% in lieu of benefits.
