Grade 4 Teacher for High Prairie Elementary School

2024-2025 School Year

This is a full time position for the 2024-2025 school year with the potential for continuation.

High Prairie is located in the town of High Prairie in northern Alberta within Big Lakes County. It is located at the junction of Highway 2 and Highway 749, approximately 371 kilometres northwest of Edmonton and 118 kilometres west of Slave Lake.

The elementary school offers programming for students from ECS through to grade 6 with a total student population of over 350. The school supports a broad range of opportunities for students including leadership and French language programs as well as art courses and it is operated by staff with a passion for teaching.

The High Prairie School Division provides many supports for their employees. We employ a full time mentor coach who supports all new teachers to the Division with an Orientation program and on-site mentoring. The Professional Development opportunities are supported in many forms and all employees have many supports that allow them to grow and improve in their professional practice.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have completed a Bachelor of Education Degree
• Must have (or be eligible to obtain) an Alberta Teaching Certificate or proof of application from Alberta Education.
• TQS or proof of application from the Alberta Teachers Association.
• Successful candidates must produce an ORIGINAL, acceptable, recent (less than six months old) Criminal Records Check which must include Vulnerable Sector Check.
