The annual pay range for teachers is $6 3,367 - $111,488 , with placement on the range based on experience and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Adam Robertson Elementary is a school with approximately 310 students in kindergarten to grade 7. We are a school in School District #8 Kootenay Lake, and we are a part of the Creston Family of Schools.

Adam Robertson Elementary School is looking for a 0. 9232 FTE Term Intermediate classroom teacher . We are seeking an experienced classroom teacher to join our collaborative team of educators in delivering a dynamic and inclusive educational program. A commitment to collaboration, includ ing buddy activities and school-wide initiatives, is essential.

The successful applicant will be a positive, energetic, and a collaborative educator who is organized and deeply committed to student-centered learning. They will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering curriculum across multiple subject areas, using current, research-based pedagogy to support student success. Proven experience in elementary teaching is required , along with the ability to follow school-based team plans that promote inclusion, align with positive behavior expectations, and support the implementation of school and district strategic initiatives. As this role involves close collaboration with co-teachers, strong communication skills with students, staff, and parents are essential.

Teachers applying for this position must possess the following skills and attributes:
• A comprehensive understanding of BC’s revised curriculum, First Peoples Principles of Learning, and social-emotional learning (SEL) practices.
• Practical understanding of the Circle of Courage
• A demonstrated commitment to equity, reconciliation and inclusion.
• Excellent verbal, written, facilitation and organizational skills.
• Social-emotional competencies of self-awareness, empathy, flexibility, and relationship-building.
• A demonstrated ability to develop and maintain rapport with students, staff and parents in a welcoming and empathetic manner.
• Proven ability to implement effective strategies to engage and support academic success for all learners in an inclusive environment.
• Experience in designing and applying various assessment techniques to measure and monitor student progress.
• Commitment to professional learning with a desire to learn and implement new methodologies and strategies to support a creative, engaging , and inclusive classroom experience.
• Commitment to collaboration with students, parents and staff (both school and District) to enhance the school as a learning community.

• Demonstrated experience integrating outdoor education to enrich learning across multiple subject areas

• Training in trauma-informed practices (e.g.: Complex Trauma Resources, etc.).
• Experience with positive behavior support, and a willingness to support the implementation of school-wide initiatives.

Required qualifications:
Bachelor of Education
A valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch
