We are now accepting applications for : 
 
 Casual Office Support List
  $15.44 per hour (plus 4% in lieu of vacation)
 

Casual support staff at the OCDSB provide relief to schools and administrative departments in the absence of regular day staff, will help during peak periods throughout the school year, or provide help with special projects. These casual assignments can last anywhere from 1 day to several weeks or months, depending on the need.

Casuals may be called upon to support different administrative functions, including Finance, Payroll, Facilities, Human Resources; but mostly, the Casuals are needed in our Elementary and Secondary School offices. Typical tasks include front reception duties (answering the phone), assisting with safe arrivals, attendance support, data entry. 

Candidates must have:

  •  Availability during the day, on a full-time or part-time basis (Monday to Friday).
  • Flexibility to accept assignments on an as-needed basis (sometimes on short notice) throughout the school year.
  • Office administration skills and experience, or experience working in a school environment.
  • Professional skills/training/diploma  (ex. Finance, Payroll, and Human Resources) is an asset.
  • High School diploma or greater.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and ability to use Google applications (including email, docs, sheets, etc).

 As a condition of employment, all newly hired casual staff must submit a satisfactory Police Record Check for the vulnerable sector.

 

 Casuals are paid an hourly rate of pay, on timesheets.

INTERVIEW PROCESS
