JOB DESCRIPTION
St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Secondary is seeking a dynamic and dedicated full-time Science teacher for Grades 8–12. The successful candidate will be passionate about science education and committed to supporting the mission of Catholic education in a vibrant school community.
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will teach Law Studies 12, a course that explores the Canadian legal system, constitutional and human rights law, criminal and civil law, and emerging legal issues in society. Students will examine how laws reflect and shape Canadian values while engaging in critical thinking and ethical reasoning.
Responsibilities:
Deliver two blocks of Law Studies 12 in accordance with the BC Curriculum
Integrate a Catholic worldview and First Peoples Principles of Learning into the classroom
Foster student understanding of justice, legal systems, and civic responsibility through inquiry-based learning and contemporary case studies
Create a respectful and engaging classroom environment that supports diverse learners
Participate in extracurricular activities, supporting the broader life of the school community
Maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues as part of a collaborative staff
Qualifications:
BC Teaching Certificate (or eligibility to obtain)
Relevant post-secondary education in Law, Political Science, or a related field
Experience or strong interest in teaching senior humanities or social studies
Knowledge of the BC Curriculum for Law Studies 12
Strong commitment to Catholic education and an inclusive classroom environment

All Catholics, non-Catholics, new education grads, and experienced teachers from across Canada are strongly encouraged to apply.
