Are you a tech-savvy professional passionate about supporting education? Wolf Creek Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Technology Support Analyst: User Training & Help Desk to join our Technology Services team. Position: Technology Support Analyst: User Training & Help Desk
Location: District Office, Ponoka (with travel to various school sites)
Reporting to: Technology Integration Director

Duties to commence October 1, 2024, or flexible dependent on the successful candidate

Key Responsibilities:

Direct Technical Support (50%):

  • Provide on-site technical support to teachers, staff, and students across the district.
  • Install and configure software and hardware in classrooms, offices, and learning spaces.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues for end-users.
  • Assist with maintaining the district's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, battery backup and wireless access points.
  • Respond to support requests in a timely and professional manner, ensuring a positive end-user experience.

Training and Help Desk Management (50%):

  • Develop and maintain training materials for district core tools, such as software guides, video tutorials, and user manuals.
  • Conduct training virtual and in person sessions and workshops for teachers and staff to enhance their technology skills.
  • Manage the district’s help desk handling incoming requests and documenting resolution progress.
  • Create and update documentation for technology support procedures to ensure consistent practices.
  • Collaborate with Technology Services team members to ensure training materials and support protocols are current and effective.


Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience: Experience in a similar role, preferably within a K-12 educational environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Chrome OS), network administration, software installation, troubleshooting, and hardware maintenance. Experience configuring a Microsoft Azure environment is considered an asset.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical end-users.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a high-functioning team.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Passion for providing excellent support and a positive end-user experience.
  • Microsoft IT certifications are a plus.
  • Detailed Knowledge of Google Workspace Apps and Office 365 applications.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks is advantageous.
  • Additional Requirements: Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle with appropriate insurance, and willingness to travel within the district. Kilometrage is reimbursed at a standard rate for work related travel. Flexibility to occasionally work outside of regular hours as needed.

Working Environment:

This role is based at our District Office in Ponoka but requires travel to various school sites. A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle are necessary for this role. You will work both independently and collaboratively with the Technology Services team and report directly to the Technology Integration Director.
