The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board (KPR) offers a world-class education for approximately 34,000 students in 87 schools. Spanning over 7,000 square kilometers, across diverse rural and urban communities in southeastern Ontario, KPR serves the Municipality of Clarington, Northumberland and Peterborough Counties, and City of Quinte West/Murray Ward.
The Board is situated on the traditional territory of the Michi Saagiig Anishinaabeg people, serving three vibrant Indigenous communities which include Alderville First Nation, Curve Lake First Nation and Hiawatha First Nation.

The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board is currently accepting applications from teacher candidates, expecting to graduate Spring 2023, for Occasional Teaching positions starting September 2023.
Occasional work will be available in geographical regions:
- Western/Southern: Bowmanville/Courtice and Port Hope/Cobourg areas
- Eastern: Brighton/Campbellford and surrounding areas
- Central: Peterborough and surrounding areas
We recruit geographically so applicants are not expected to travel at all areas. Please make your geographic preference known in your cover letter.
Requirements:
- Understanding of special education student needs, including differentiated instruction, developing/implementing programming accommodations, as required;
- Knowledge and understanding of Individual Education Plans to guide programming;
- Knowledge and understanding of a variety of assessment techniques;
- Strong planning and organizational skills;
- Strong classroom management skills; and
- Excellent interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
