Manager, Labour Relations


We are seeking an experienced professional to provide labour relations and human resources advice to BC’s 60 public school districts.

You will be a primary LR Liaison assigned to a client group of school districts, providing advice and guidance on a full range of labour relations and human resources activities and initiatives. Exercising a high degree of judgement and knowledge of LR/HR issues in a unionized environment, you will support districts with the administration and interpretation of collective agreements and provide advice on terms and conditions of employment, employee discipline and terminations, recruitment and selection, and performance evaluation.

As part of our team of knowledgeable and collegial labour relations professionals, you will also participate in a variety of special projects and initiatives including supporting districts as they carry out local collective bargaining as well as participating in the delivery of training/professional development sessions on a variety of human resource topics.

Whether you are working with our client boards of education, provincial government representatives, management associations, or union representatives, you have a well- earned reputation for consistent, high-quality strategic thinking, solution-oriented decision-making, and establishing effective and robust working relationships. In addition to relevant education, experience, and sound technical writing skills, you have a strong client focus and commitment to deliver a consistently high caliber of service.

You possess a minimum of five years of related experience providing information and advice on a full range of labour relations/human resource matters. In addition, you possess a post-secondary degree in a related field supplemented by relevant professional development. Experience working in a school district would be a definite asset.
