Kitikmeot School Operations invites applications for the following position: TEACHER/Vice-Principal

The position is 1.0 PY (full-time position).
School Description: Kiilinik High School is a grade 7-12 school with a population of 168 students and 24 staff.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education degree
- Eligible for Nunavut Teaching Certificate
- Minimum 3 years experience as a classroom teacher (minimum 1 year in Nunavut)
Desired qualifications:
- Experience on a school administrative team
- Experience with school time tabling and programming to meet student needs
- Experience working successfully with a local education authority
- Experience in the use of educational software to maintain student records and record assessments
- Experience in leading a school team to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Successful leadership of school improvement initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to plan effectively on both short and long term to deploy school resources
- Demonstrated effective communication in all formats
- Experience working successfully in a cross-cultural learning environment
- Demonstrated ability to mediate conflict and promote consensus among stakeholders
Please note: Subsidized housing is not available.
The salary for certified teachers ranges from $80,791 prorated/annum. to $126,679.00 prorated/annum.
The Vice Principal administrative allowance is currently TBD.
The Northern Allowance for Cambridge Bay is $19,716 prorated/annum.
