Teaching Assistants - Long Term/Supply - Bristol, UK

Prospero Teaching are looking to receive applications from a number of Graduates who are interested in undertaking Teaching Assistant and support-based roles (including Special Educational Needs support roles) within our UK client schools. We have a number of long-term roles available in September 2024. However, if you would prefer the flexibility of casual relief work, we also have a large number of short term and temporary assignments available now.

Candidates must be able to work effectively within a whole school team and alongside outside agencies (where applicable) to provide a high level of support for children, whilst also providing a safe, challenging and secure learning environment. Candidates should be effective communicators, be able to work independently and have good people skills.

Working in a Teaching Assistant or support capacity in the UK provides a great opportunity for those wishing to pursue a future career in education whilst also enabling candidates the flexibility to travel throughout Europe during the school holidays.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have the ability to understand and use a range of strategies to support positive behaviour and attitudes
  • Have experience working with young people in a paid or voluntary capacity
  • Have a strong academic background to support students with different subjects (such as English, Math or Science)
  • Be an outstanding team player and able to liaise with teachers, students and parents sensitively
  • Have a positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Be positive, highly motivated and focused on achieving the best for every student
  • Be flexible and open to change, with excellent communication skills

Qualifications:

  • Any professional specialism will be considered
  • You hold the right to work and teach in the UK (UK passport holder, Ancestry Visa, Spousal Visa or Youth Mobility Visa)
  • Be eligible for QTS
  • Have up to date Safeguarding training within the last year (Prospero offers accredited CPD training)
  • Successfully undergo RCMP certified criminal record checks
  • Provide at least two professional teaching references covering the last two year
