The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board is recruiting certified teachers with qualifications to teach in its core French and immersion classrooms (French as a Second Language I). In keeping with our internal hiring practices, our aim is to add successful applicants to our elementary & secondary occasional teachers' (OT) rosters for supply work as well as opportunity to post into long-term occasional and permanent positions as they become available this school year (2017-2018). Successful candidates must be available to work once hired. Please outline in a mandatory question included in this posting what your availability is and what we can expect.
We are interested in reviewing the qualifications of individuals who are available to begin working as an occasional teacher shortly and who meet any of the following criteria:
a) have completed French as a Second Language (FSL) 1
b) are currently enrolled in a FSL 1 course
c) plan to complete FSL 1 before January 1, 2018
d) have experience teaching in core French or French immersion programmes
e) are certified teachers, whose verbal and written French competency would enable them to qualify for and successfully complete FSL 1.
When scoring applications, preference will be given to candidates who:
a) have completed their studies or teaching placements in French-language schools/classrooms/programmes
b )who have experience living/working/volunteering in French-language settings
c) have a DELF rating of B2 or greater (please ensure copy is downloaded as part of your application)
Please include as part of your application:
1) cover letter, outlining your available start date
2) resume, including your current address, phone number(s) and email
3) copy of OCT certification
4) Two teaching practicum reports, if a recent teacher graduate, or a signed copy of the most recent performance evaluation, if an educator with experience, NTIP evaluation or LTO experience that has been appraised.
4) The names and contact information for three references. If you have completed a longer term assignment or have permanent teaching experience, we ask that you provide the contact information of your most recent principal among your references.
Written and oral French-language competency are assessed as part of KPR's recruitment/selection process.
If you are offered a position within our KPRDSB, a police record check with vulnerable sector search dated within 6 months of hire is required before you begin work. We recommend you begin this process to avoid delays in securing this paperwork.
The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board supports inclusive and equitable recruitment and selection procedures for all candidates. Should you require accommodations in keeping with the Ontario Human Rights Code during all or any part of these processes, please advise in advance so that any necessary arrangements can be made.
Those selected for an interview will be contacted by e-mail via Apply to Education. Thank you for your interest in the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.
